Encryption
Introduction
Encryption is used to protect sensitive data so that it cannot be accessed by unauthorized parties. With encryption, readable data is converted into an unreadable format using cryptographic algorithms. This helps maintain the confidentiality and security of your information.
The following is a guide for managing encryption data within the system, including creating new data, viewing the data list, filtering, searching, editing, deleting, as well as demonstrating the use of the simulator for data encryption and decryption.
1. Create New Encryption
Follow the steps below to create a new encryption in the system:
1. Open the Encryption menu
- Open the Security Config menu in the navigation panel.
- Select the Encryption tab.
- Click the Add Function button located on the right side of the screen to start the process of creating a new encryption.
2. Fill in the Basic Information
- Function Name: Enter the name of the encryption function.
- Description: Enter a brief description of the encryption function (optional).
3. Encryption Configuration
Encryption Settings:
- Encryption Algorithm: Select the encryption algorithm that will be used to secure your data.
- Key Size: Select the key size according to the algorithm used.
Explanation of the Encryption Algorithms:
- AES (Advanced Encryption Standard): is a symmetric algorithm that uses the same key for both encryption and decryption. AES operates on 128-bit blocks and supports key lengths of 128 or 256 bits.
- RSA (Rivest-Shamir-Adleman): is an asymmetric algorithm that uses two different keys, namely a public key for encryption and a private key for decryption. RSA is based on the difficulty of factoring large prime numbers, providing a high level of security for key exchange. RSA supports several key lengths, such as 1024 bit, 2048 bit, and 4096 bit.
Key Rotation Settings:
- Automatic Key Rotation: Enable the Automatic Key Rotation option if you want the system to rotate the encryption key automatically at certain intervals. If enabled, specify the desired rotation period. The available options include rotation per minute, hour, day, week, month, or year.
- Allow Key Export: Enable the Allow Key Export option if you want to allow the key material (raw key) to be exported from the system.
4. Manage the Encryption Group
Select the group in which this encryption will be managed.
- Use the search box to find the appropriate group.
- Click the group name from the list.
- Once the group is selected, the list of group members will appear in the right panel.
- Check the members who will have access to the Encryption.
5. Save the Configuration
Once all fields are completely filled in, click the Submit button.
A pop-up notification will appear stating that the encryption was successfully created.
2. List Encryption
Once the data has been successfully created, users can view the list of encryption functions that have been saved in the system.
The following is an explanation of each column displayed in the table:
- Function Name: Displays the name of the created encryption function.

- To remove a specific filter, uncheck the selected option.
- To remove all filters at once, click the Clear all filters button at the bottom of the filter panel.
- After the filter is cleared, the system automatically displays all encryption data without any filter restrictions.
4. Search Encryption
The search feature makes it easier for users to find specific Encryption data without having to manually browse through the entire list.
The following are the steps to use the search feature:
- Open the Security Config page from the navigation menu.
- Select the Encryption tab.
- Find the Search field at the top right of the table, next to the Filter button.
- Enter a keyword in the Search field. The keyword can be the name of an Encryption function.
- The system will automatically display the list of Encryptions that match the entered keyword.
- To display all data again, manually clear the keyword from the Search field.
5. Edit Encryption
On the Encryption page, users can update the encryption information as needed. The Edit feature allows changes to data such as function name, description, encryption algorithm, key size, automatic key rotation, allow key export, group, and members.
The following are the steps to use the Edit feature on Encryption:
1. Open the Encryption Menu
Access the Security Config menu from the sidebar, then select the Encryption tab to display the list of available encryption functions.
